Low maintenance timber look Futurewood cladding

Low maintenance timber look Futurewood cladding

One look at these chic urban apartments in Deepdene Victoria confirms an image of stunning simplicity and ultra-low maintenance apartment living.
The Futurewood EnviroSlat Walnut composite timber cladding featured on this project provides the perfect contrast to the stark look of the concrete block and galvanised steel used. These fashionable high end apartments were designed with a low maintenance façade in mind and the combination of materials used has really hit the brief.
The low maintenance Futurewood composite timber cladding is pre-finished in the colour Walnut with a coarse sanded face to help accentuate the contrast of the shiplap join. The finish provides a real wood look without most of the inherent maintenance that a timber façade would require. The cladding can be installed in either the horizontal or the vertical direction but for this design the vertical lines helped to enhance the feature of the offset balconies.
The EnviroSlat 156mm wide Weatherproof wall cladding was supplied in a number of different lengths to suit the project requirements and help to minimise waste from offcuts providing further project savings.

The choice of the fully finished Futurewood composite timber cladding instead of an unfinished cladding material allowed the builder to reduce the number of trades required for the install saving time and money in terms of reduced labour and scaffolding hire.
Futurewood solid composite timber cladding is made from 90% recycled or reclaimed material and the long life credentials of the Futurewood cladding made sense for this development. The Futurewood boards are made from a percentage of recycled plastic mixed with wood fibres and rice husks and the colour is mixed right through each of the boards so the boards will not rot and there is no ongoing painting or staining required saving money on the build as well as pleasing the body corporate with savings through reduced ongoing maintenance.
